Ben began his insurance career in September 2014 with AmFirst Insurance in McCook. In 2017, Ben joined Edgewater Insurance's McCook location. Prior to his insurance career, Ben received his Bachelor of Education degree, majoring in Business Education and Business Marketing, from the University of Nebraska–Kearney in 2013. In his free time, Ben enjoys playing golf, skiing, hunting and spending time with his chocolate lab Bud. Ben currently holds insurance licenses in Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, and South Dakota, and recently received his Associate in Insurance Production (AIP) designation.

I began my career as a licensed insurance agent in June of 1992 under the mentorship of a seasoned agent. I learned how to manage clients' risks with the appropriate insurance products. I care about the wellbeing of each client and I go the extra mile to make sure they are well protected from the unexpected events of life. I have many years of experience and knowledge in Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Life and Health as well as Crop Insurance. I am very active in my local community and do a lot of volunteer work with various organizations. Martha was born and raised in Southwest Nebraska. Martha started in the insurance industry in 1980 with New York Life and later EF Hutton. In 1989, Martha stepped away from the workforce to raise her three children. Martha was then employed by Community Hospital in 2007. Martha returned to the insurance industry in 2014, joining the AmFirst Insurance team, and in 2017 joined Edgewater Insurance's McCook location. Martha is licensed in property & casualty, life, health, and crop, and recently achieved the designation of CISR Elite. Martha is married to Ray Chmiel and the two are avid runners. Martha has taught group fitness at the McCook YMCA since 1999. Martha also enjoys fishing, gardening, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
